Detecting whether a word reads the same both ways — fast and flawlessly.

A deliberately minimal exercise for a timed individual exam: saying whether a string is a palindrome. The whole point lies elsewhere than in the algorithm — in the cleanliness of the error handling and strict respect of the expected output format.

A program testing whether its argument is a palindrome, case-insensitive comparison, with messages on standard and error output and compliant return codes.
